Transaction anomalies

This report marks transactions whose amount, date, or category differs substantially from similar past transactions. A flag means the transaction differs from history; it does not prove an error or fraud.

Reason for the flag

The flag states how the amount, date, or category differs from similar past transactions. You can open the records used for comparison.

Legitimate unusual transactions

Travel, an annual bill, medical care, or a planned large purchase can be valid even when it differs from normal spending. Compare the transaction with the bank or receipt before changing it.

Fix the transaction

If the bank or receipt confirms an error, correct the amount, date, or category or remove the duplicate. Leave a valid unusual transaction unchanged.

Transactions used for comparison

The comparison set updates as more similar transactions are recorded. A flag is for one review and is not a permanent transaction label.
