Parent transaction
The original transaction remains the only wallet charge. Splitting only divides its amount among categories; it does not create additional wallet transactions.
Amounts and categories
Each part needs an amount and category. Parts can also have different people, tags, and notes when a purchase covers more than one person or project.
Sum of all parts
The parts must add up exactly to the parent amount in the same currency. A split cannot be saved while an amount is unassigned or the parts exceed the total.
Budgets and wallet balance after a split
After saving, category totals change in budgets and reports. The wallet balance must remain the same.
