Transaction type
Income adds money to a wallet, an expense removes it, and a transfer moves value between your own wallets. A transfer prevents income and spending reports from counting the same money twice.
Amount and transaction currency
Use the amount shown by the bank, receipt, or cash movement. For a transfer between currencies, Tetri stores the amount sent, the amount received, and the resulting exchange rate.
Source and destination wallets
Income and expenses need the wallet whose balance changed. A transfer needs both the source and destination wallets.
Category and people
The category determines which budgets and reports include the transaction. A person can identify who paid or received the money. Both fields can be changed later. Tetri leaves the category empty instead of guessing.
Date, tags, and note
The date determines the reporting period and historical exchange rate. Tags can group transactions from one project across several categories. Use the note for an order number or another detail you may need later.
Before saving
Before saving, check the transaction type, original amount, wallets, and date. Category, person, tags, and note can be changed later. You do not need to add the same transaction again to budgets, tax, or reports.
Calculations updated after saving
After saving, Tetri updates the selected wallet balance, matching budget, forecast, tax estimate, and reports.
