What the primary currency means
The primary currency is used for combined totals, reports and planning. It does not change the currency of an account or transaction.
Example. A workspace has GEL, USD and EUR accounts. With GEL as primary, Tetri shows the combined total in GEL. The account balances remain in their original currencies.
How to choose
Choose the currency used for everyday decisions and the total balance. This is often the currency of rent and regular spending. It does not have to match the currency of income.
Statement currency
Statement currency is selected separately during import. A USD bank statement must be imported as USD even when the primary currency is GEL.
If the currency is missing
Finish setup with an available currency. Add the required currency in Settings and change the primary currency there.
Changing it later
Changing the primary currency changes the currency used for combined views. It does not rewrite transaction history. If an account was imported in the wrong currency, correct the account or repeat the import.
