Bank statement import

Each accepted statement row becomes a transaction in the selected wallet. Before importing, choose the wallet and currency, check the columns Tetri detected, and review the rows it marked as duplicates or errors. Imported transactions immediately affect balances, budgets, and reports.

Destination wallet

Imported transactions are added to the selected wallet and change its balance. Choose the bank account or card from the statement. Create the wallet first if it is not listed.

Source statement file

Use the original file downloaded from the bank. Its headers, encoding, decimal separators, and date format make column detection more accurate.

Statement currency

The selected currency must match the account on the statement. Imported amounts remain in that currency. Reports convert them later using the rate for each transaction date.

Detected statement columns

Tetri needs a date and either one amount column or separate debit and credit columns. A description is optional. Other fields, such as currency and running balance, can improve duplicate detection and reconciliation.

Accepted, duplicate, warning, and rejected rows

The preview separates rows that will be imported from duplicates, warnings, and rejected rows. Check a few rows before confirming. If dates or amounts were detected incorrectly, choose the correct bank format or upload the original file again.

Categories and optional automation rules

You can assign a category to matching rows in this batch. Create an automation rule only if future transactions will have a specific merchant, description, wallet, amount, or direction that separates them from unrelated transactions.

Card and loan transaction matching

For a credit card or loan, review the liabilities Tetri matched to imported rows. Confirm the match, choose another liability, or skip it. A linked repayment is treated as a transfer instead of another expense.

Optional bank balance and date

If the statement includes the account balance on a specific date, enter both values for reconciliation. Tetri shows the difference between the bank balance and the calculated balance and can adjust the wallet opening balance.

Checks after import

After import, compare the wallet balance with the balance on the statement date, then review uncategorized transactions, affected budgets, and the import-health report. Balances, budgets, forecasts, tax estimates, and reports already include the imported transactions.
