Automated expense categorisation
Set a category and tags once for purchases you make regularly. Tetri applies your rules using the payment description, amount and other conditions, both for new transactions and for history you have already imported.
Rules for everyday purchases
Repeated expenses
You do not need to choose a familiar shop’s category after every statement import. A rule applies it when the conditions match. Use the same rule for past transactions too.
Personal and work purchases
The same taxi service can cover personal and work trips. Match UBER in the description together with the Work card wallet to select work payments without changing purchases on your personal card.
Expenses for reimbursement
Assign a work trip to Transport and add a Work tag in the same rule. Review all travel by category, or expenses for reimbursement by tag. A rule supports up to 10 actions.
Exceptions to a general rule
Check a condition for a specific card before a general taxi condition. Stop after match keeps the result of the first matching rule.
The order of transaction processing
Rules apply actions from top to bottom. Set a category first and add a tag with another rule. If no further changes are needed, stop processing after a match.
Each rule has a run count and a last-used date. If expected purchases no longer match, inspect their descriptions and adjust the condition, for example after a merchant changes its statement name.
Categorising past expenses
After importing a year of history, you do not need to correct every taxi ride separately. Apply a rule to a selected period after reviewing the match count and example payments.
Review before a bulk change
Preview up to 10 matching transactions before a run. Check for unwanted purchases and narrow the condition if needed. Changes apply only to the selected period.
Why a category changed
The last 90 days of run history include the rule, transaction and result of each action. If a category is wrong, find the condition that assigned it and correct it.
Rules from statement corrections
Save a category correction as a rule while reviewing a statement. For example, assign bakery purchases to Groceries once and use the same condition on later imports.
Rules to start with
A new workspace includes system rules for cash withdrawals and taxi rides. They add cash and transport tags to matching transactions.
Automation by amount and purpose
A separate review of large purchases
Add a Large purchase tag to expenses from €500. Review electronics and furniture together without replacing their categories. You choose the amount threshold.
One category for several merchants
Match several taxi company names to Transport. When the description is not enough, also check the wallet, currency or amount range. These conditions are available in rule templates.
Categories from merchant names
For purchases at a familiar merchant, a category alias may be enough. A shop name in the description can assign Groceries without further conditions. Aliases are included in Free.
On Pro, combine conditions, change tags and descriptions, and process history. Each workspace supports up to 20 custom rules.
Automation questions
Categories based on aliases are free. Rules that combine amount, wallet and other conditions require Pro.
Create a rule, select a period for a manual run and review the matches. Your history stays unchanged until you confirm.
Place the more specific rule above the general one. Enable Stop after match to keep the first result. Otherwise, later matching rules also apply their actions.
Yes. Add a notification action to the rule. The notification appears in Activity.
