Personal finances in Tetri
Import bank statements for card purchases and use quick entry for cash expenses. Tetri combines the history with wallet balances and net worth after debts. Use those records to build a budget and financial plan.
Bank statements instead of manual entry
Separate records for each wallet
Import a statement into the wallet for that bank. Purchases stay linked to the account, and its balance remains separate from cash and other banks.
Your previous spending history
Start with a bank statement or an export from another finance app. An app export can include previous wallets and categories alongside transactions.
A full period of purchases
A statement includes purchase dates, amounts and descriptions for the selected period. Supported formats include CSV, XLSX, PDF, OFX, QFX, STA and MT940, depending on the bank.
Review before saving
Check amounts and categories before adding them to your history. Matches from a previous import are skipped, including when the dates of 2 statements overlap.
Statements from different banks
Formats include Revolut, Wise, TBC Bank, Bank of Georgia, Credo, Kaspi, Sber, T-Bank, Alfa-Bank, VTB and other banks and payment services. The full list is available when selecting an import source.
Download the file from your bank. Tetri does not need your online banking login or password. Select the format manually if it is not detected from the file.
Switching from another app
Import exports from Zenmoney, Drebedengi, YNAB, Money Manager, Money Flow, Monarch Money, Lunch Money, Firefly III and Spendee.
The import includes transactions and transfers, plus wallets, currencies and categories from the source file. You do not need to enter old purchases individually.
History updates without duplicates
After an August statement, you can upload a file covering August and September. Matching August transactions will not be added again. There is no need to remove them from the file first.
Imports on the Free plan
Free includes 3 successful imports each month. A failed upload does not reduce the allowance. Reversing a completed import makes another upload available.
Cash and purchases without a statement
Add a cash lunch after paying. Its amount, wallet and category are part of the same records as your bank statements, and the expense is included in history and reports.
Split a receipt containing groceries and household supplies between categories. Save a frequent purchase as a template. Confirm an unknown exchange rate later from the bank charge.
Record purchases through Telegram
Send “taxi 42 lari” to the Tetri bot in Telegram. You receive an expense draft with the amount and description. Check the wallet, category and date before saving.
The bot also supports income, transfers and templates for frequent transactions. Saved expenses appear in the same history as imported purchases.
Expenses by voice on iPhone
Dictate an expense on iPhone, for example on your way out of a shop. Speech recognition runs on the phone. Review the text and transaction details before saving.
Russian, English, German, Spanish, Georgian and Turkish are available.
Personal finances in several currencies
Keep a dollar salary, euro savings and everyday lari expenses in one workspace. Wallets retain their original currencies, with a base currency for combined totals.
Net worth includes assets and debts. If a rate is missing, the total is marked as incomplete. Known wallet balances remain available.
Net worth after debts
€10,000 in assets and €2,000 in debts give €8,000 net worth. Choose a base currency for combined totals without changing the currencies of the original transactions.
The rate you actually paid
Record the actual exchange terms for the relevant date. If your bank used a different rate, enter it manually instead of the reference rate.
Transfers with currency exchange
For $100 exchanged into €92, enter the amount paid and the amount received. Each account balance changes by its respective amount, with a rate of €0.92 per dollar.
FX gain and loss on spending
If you received $3,000 at 90 RUB and spent $500 at 94 RUB, the difference on the spent amount is 2,000 RUB. A separate report for this calculation is available on Pro.
Additional currencies
Add a missing currency with its own code, symbol and decimal precision. Pro supports currencies outside the standard list.
Money lent and repaid
After paying for a shared dinner, record the amount another person owes you. Tetri supports money lent and borrowed. After a partial repayment, the outstanding amount remains visible.
Check spending against the original purchases
Your history includes imported purchases and manually added transactions. Each has a date, wallet, category and description. If the balance differs from the bank, check the relevant period for an incorrect or missing amount.
Expenses for a trip
Select your holiday dates to review spending on each card. A purchase includes its original amount and conversion to your base currency.
Find the relevant payments
Combine the period, category, wallet and budget. Review restaurants during a holiday or a month of purchases on a work card.
Receipts and purchase details
Attach a receipt photo and a note to a transaction. Split a mixed purchase between categories while retaining the original total.
Automatic expense categories
Add a familiar shop name as a category alias. A matching transaction description assigns that category without another manual choice. Use automation rules when several conditions are needed.
The initial set includes 12 groups and 60 categories. Add missing categories, merge similar ones or remove those you do not use.
Shared household expenses
Record purchases from both partners’ cards in a household workspace. Both can access the history, and groceries reduce the same budget regardless of who paid.
An editor can add transactions; a viewer has read access only. An invitation lasts 14 days and can be accepted once. Sharing is available on Pro.
